Diesel tank
Diesel tanks aren’t just used at traditional large petrol stations where they’re generally kept underground.
This type of tank is increasingly being used in agriculture as a farm
refuelling station.
On-site fuelling station
Any agricultural machinery can be refuelled on site with the farm refuelling station, removing the need to tediously look for a suitable petrol station. This saves time that is very valuable to farmers, particularly during the harvest season.
Rules and regulations
Diesel tanks, just like chemistry tanks and UAN tanks, are subject to certain regulations, as the tank contains flammable substances and thus may present a hazard to the environment.
With diesel tanks, it is important that the tank is secure and not placed in potentially flammable environments.
Diesel is highly flammable and can therefore present a significant danger to agricultural sites. Therefore, the tank in which the fuel is stored must be handled particularly carefully and inspected regularly for damage and contamination.
Using diesel tanks as fuelling stations
Requirements apply to diesel tanks used as fuelling stations, which can be found in the regulations of the applicable Federal State. Similarly, it is important that no contamination of water occurs with UAN tanks. When purchasing a tank that can accommodate more than 5000 litres do you think that a licence is needed? In principle, a licence of this kind is mandatory for underground tanks.
Cleaning a diesel tank
Diesel tanks are cleaned similarly to other tanks that contain hazardous substances. It is important that diesel residue does not enter a drain. For safe cleaning, the tank should be cleaned in a collecting basin. Some tanks can also be partly cleaned by hand. However, when doing so, attention must be paid to gases left behind and personal safety.
Diesel tanks are also available in different variants.
If required, we can also install a a pump system so that the tank can be used as a refuelling station. Simply get in touch with us and we’ll modify the tank of your choice and adapt it to your needs.
Looking for a different size or a very specific tank? No problem, we’ll find the right used tank for you.
