Georg Heuer GmbH is one of the oldest traders of used industrial containers. The founder, Georg Heuer, started off in Düsseldorf, in 1949. He began trading refurbished plant parts, such as aluminium tanks from train service stocks. Later on he branched out to different types of containers, even including entire rail cars.
The following generation was led by Peter Frank, who had been Georg Heuer’s accountant for many years. In 1996, the business was handed over to the deconstruction expert Klaus Franzkoch and Sylvia Maurer, a merchant by trade. Not only did the couple move the operation to East Westfalia, they also expanded the business significantly.
The reunification process of Germany firmly cemented their position among the leading authorities on used containers in Europe as numerous businesses were dissolved and reconstructed. Following this trend, more and more customers could be found not only in Germany, but all over Europe and the Middle East.
